My N95 feels like a different person... I mean phone... I mean .. what's the proper term now? multimedia computer? convergence device? phone+pda+camera+pmp+gps unit?
Anyway, the firmware has improved quite a bit in 3 months. It is a lot more responsive. Copying contacts over is faster, scrolling through media in the gallery is faster, opening and closing the Maps app is faster...
It's good to know this is what end users will experience with the retail version of the N95!
However, the colours of the pics taken with the 5mp Carl Zeiss are different. I'm not talking about the rose tint or purple haze... the colours are less saturated than before. Granted, I've only taken a few pictures with the new firmware so far, but it is quite a visible difference to me. No "pop" in the pictures, if you will. Maybe it's just a personal preference, but I liked the previous image processing. I'll have to test it out more this weekend..
And I just found out yesterday that *#62209526# is *#MAC WLAN# (to find the Mac address on your phone.) It's like... duh! You mean I didn't have to memorize the long number? (although I don't usually have problems with that... it's people's names I have problems with.) Makes me wonder if other such codes have meanings behind them, e.g. *#92702689# ??
Guess what's in the box? Yeap, the N800! Fast shipping! Can't wait to open it... I didn't do it yet because I know I'll end up spending hours playing with it, so I'd better leave it to the weekend. Add that to the list of an already packed weekend to begin with!
Robert from Barbados (beautiful place! would love to visit sometime...) recently joined the Nokia bloggers program and will also be getting a Nokia N800 for testing! Keep an eye on his blog for reviews and his experiences with the Internet Tablet... maybe he'd be using it to blog from the beach :) Ahhhh I want to do that too, N800 in one hand, N95 in the other, both feet in the sand... hmm, no extra hand for a drink. Won't be doing that in the near future though, as there's no beach near here.

I haven't encountered the same problem... it could possibly be fixed with a firmware update. Your best bet would be to go back to T-mobile U.K. and request for an update or replacement. As I don't work in the retail channels (esp in a different country) I'm not in the best position to provide support. But since you purchased it from an official retailer, I don't think you will have problems getting your problems fixed. Good luck!

Nokia N95 (43.01)
I had a bit more of a play this weekend and tryd connecting via a neighbors unsecured network and things seemed to work O.K. so thinking the issue might be able to be resolved with a firmware update maybe?
Regards
Your blog rocks really. I have found out about your blog while googling on the net for N95 Info (I got one Finally!!!). I found it very informative (although sometimes through links ;) ) But Still Great Work.
Ahh! N95.. Love this Phone. I have been a dedicated Nokia User and Lover starting with Nokia 3310 way back from stone age (I still have 3310... He He). I don't want to mention bugs and problems in N95 cause you are dealing with them directly (I made a list of Bugs calculating to 11) I just want to add that this is a great phone to work with.
Cheers Dear... !!!!! Keep up the good work...
Thanks again =)
I don't think so I will be bothering you with problems cause you are more advanced in problem solving than me but may be some suggestions that can help you in development... I have been making some list for suggestions. May be I can forward that to you. My email is nilay@veerasat.com. Drop me a line and I will be back to you in no time...
Cheers!!!!!
Did you get a APAC firmware update yet?
If you have some suggestions for development, you can try Forum Nokia. It will be a better outlet than my blog :)
Would love to visit Thailand someday. I grew up not too far away in sunny Singapore!
Take care =)
